Almost 9 months later, my digital perm is still the best investment I made. I only had two days in HK but wanted to try a digital perm at a Japanese hair salon. Tomo cut my hair and discussed with Zoe how my hair should be permed. I loved my experience there! I had one of the most interesting conversations with Zoe about health, food, and parenting. She also did such a great job with my perm! I read that digital perms usually last 3-6 months but I’m still loving my volume and waves in month 9. Tomo and I also had a great conversation about his time in HK and his perspective about living abroad. He also gave me a really good haircut that has lasted 9 months so far! I have a lot of hair and it’s thick! I was told before that perms would be a waste of money for me due to my hair’s thickness. Bellus Salon really proved that wrong. A few months after my visit, I had a spa person messed up my curls as I couldn’t communicate with her. Tomo was so accessible to troubleshoot to retain my curls as much as possible. Ease of appointment: 10/10, I wasn’t in HK yet but easily booked a time via WhatsApp Haircut: 10/10 Cleanliness/Atmosphere: 10/10, a small salon with very tailored service Value: 9/10, it was definitely the most expensive thing I’ve done with my hair and more expensive that treatments in the US, but given how long my perm and haircut have lasted, it’s still good value!
-Massage is super. -Barber’s design is ok. They follow your idea but struggle to improve it. They want you to come back next time to improve. -But the atmosphere inside is a bit too quiet. Even the music is good, the lack of communication and explanation makes interaction weird. E.g., the girl just throw me some vogue magazines in front of me without saying a word. When I pay, a bit impatience starts to grow out as the end of service. -Plus, I spent 1500 for a hair cut. I imagined it would be within 1000 even though the massage it good.
I went for a haircut at Bellus with Ishimoto-san. He was very detailed and professional. I feel he took care every strand of hair and took his time to make sure the tips and volume are right. Worth every penny!
They didn’t explain anything. Hong Kongnees staff is good but Japanese director? is terrible. I’ll never go back here again!!
Very different from the chained hair salons, Bellus is cozy & relaxing. Services are good. I am happy with my new hair cut!
