i texted the stylist before hand to specifically request the special package that included a blow cut, colour, and treatment. he said it was okay and i proceeded to send him photos of the hair colour and style i wanted, where he also confirmed that this was okay. however, when i arrived on the day after my stylist finished cutting my hair, he told me that because the hair colour i want was special (red color), i couldn’t receive the treatment included in the package. i am quite upset at this as they didn’t communicate this to me at all before hand, even though i clearly stated the package and style i wanted, and assumed that the package would include the colour i wanted, as the stylist had not stated any exceptions to the deal. as we proceeded with the bleach for my hair colour, after the bleach was applied to the right side of my hair, my stylist simply left without saying anything. the original hair style i showed him required bleach on both the left and right side, so i was very confused when he left to go take a break and didn’t come back for another 1 hour. when he came back, i asked him when he was going to apply the bleach on the other side, and he was very confused that i wanted colour on both sides of my head, even though i clearly showed him before with pictures. only after that did he put the bleach on the other side of my hair. however, the time gap between the two bleach applications left the bleaching uneven on the right and left side of my hair in the end. i also asked him when he was going to wash out the bleach, as the right side of my hair had been bleached for one hour, and i know that it is generally recommended for bleach to not stay on for longer than an hour. he proceeded to tell me that it had to be left on for another hour, and when i expressed my concern about it, he dismissed it and said it was going to be fine. so in total, the right side of my head had bleaching for almost 3 hours, which is definitely more than what is safe and healthy for my hair. at the very end when i was paying the bill, i asked them if they could provide me with a student discount as i saw on their website that it was applicable to all hair appointments. they told me that it was not applicable to the stylist i have booked as he was a senior stylist, even though their website did not mention any exceptions to the student discount. i respect their business decisions and the fact that my hairstylist could not understand or speak english very well. however, a lot of my dissatisfaction and concerns could’ve been easily communicated through pictures or beforehand through text. i am quite upset with negligence i faced due to the lack of communication on their behalf. i would not return to this hair salon again and unfortunately i could not recommend it to another person. i hope other people have had a better experience than me.
