The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong Wong Tai Sin Clinic

12 條Seeing so many negative reviews, I want to defend them. This was my first time going to a family planning association, because I needed emergency contraception. I don't know why so many reviews say their attitude is bad, but in my experience, everyone—from the receptionist to the nurses and doctors—was very gentle and kind. I went to get an IUD inserted. Because it was urgent, they specially set aside a time for me 🙏, I was actually quite scared at first. However, once I was in the room, the doctor and nurses were very gentle 👍 and the process was very quick and experienced. Although it was really painful 😅😅😅 and terrifying, at least I didn't cry… Afterwards, I was still quite scared because I normally feel a little dizzy. So I sat there for quite a while. I wasn't fully awake, but many different staff members came over to ask what was wrong, gave me sugar water and candy, and immediately brought me painkillers when I asked. They even came over to collect my payment when they saw I couldn't walk. After sitting for an hour, the pain subsided, and I felt relieved enough to go home. But they were all very nice; they didn't seem to mind me sitting there at all 🙏 Although their phones were constantly busy 😅 But I suspect they weren't specifically using them; they were probably just using their phones because of too many bookings. I suggest being patient and trying to call several times at different times. This time I walked in, but I didn't have to wait very long. (For reference) The total cost, including the doctor's fee and installation fee, was over nine hundred.
The fees are outrageous. I used to come here for years because the prices were much cheaper, but now it's like a private clinic. The doctors are all quite old and don't know how to answer my questions. The reception staff are also very rude and all seem quite old. A doctor's consultation costs over $500, and a Pap smear costs over $800. The doctor will refer you to a private lab for tests, even though I just had one done recently, and they're making me do another, and the prices are exorbitant. At this price, it's better to just go to a private clinic; at least the doctors and staff there are more professional, and you won't have to put up with this.
The doctors and nurses here are experienced and professional. However, the front desk service is a major letdown. It's nearly impossible to get through on the phone, and the reception staff seem more interested in chatting with each other than helping patients.
It’s ridiculous how hard it is to get here emergency contraceptive pills. The lady needs to see first a nurse and then potentially a doctor. This can sometimes take more than 24 hours as the doctors are not always in. It felt like we are in a third world country. Horrible experience!!!
The clinic was reopened on 7th April 2010.
