32 條On May 2, 2024, I used my medical card to see him. Because of a dry cough, he prescribed two asthma pills twice a day and two bronchial allergy pills twice a day. He also prescribed cough syrup. I mentioned a slight sore throat, and he prescribed two anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving pills three times a day. Taking these medications not only didn't help, but my cough worsened. I couldn't even speak. I don't know if it's because of the medical card that he prescribes medications incorrectly, or if the clerk dispensing the medication didn't follow the prescription.
I always see Dr. Tam when I'm seriously ill, and after taking his prescribed medication once or twice, I can clearly feel an improvement in my condition. I think Dr. Tam's prescriptions are very accurate. Unlike most clinics where I see him several times and still feel no better. The only downside is that there are always long queues for appointments, and the wait can be incredibly long 😹 But I understand.
I'm so disappointed. I've known Dr. Tam Chi-wai since I was a child; my whole family has seen him. Today, my mom had an accident and hurt herself. When we got to the door, we asked him to bandage the wound, check the injury, and stop the bleeding, but he wouldn't help. He told us to go to the emergency room. But as a doctor, seeing something like that, he should at least stop the bleeding. The fee was perfectly reasonable. Later, we went up to the second floor to see Dr. Kwok, a Western medicine doctor. He immediately helped, bandaged the wound, disinfected it, and then told us to call 999. We're both doctors, but our approaches are so different.
Seeing the doctor was fine, but there was this older, short-looking girl who was quite rude. When I was getting my medicine, I asked her if the doctor's certificate was there first, because that's really important for a working person like me. Then I heard her say, "You're asking for the doctor's certificate before you've even paid..." and then slap the certificate on the table. It's not like I didn't want to pay; I had already taken out my wallet to ask. Her attitude was terrible. If my kid hadn't been there, I would have yelled at her on the spot...
I've actually lived abroad for ten years. This time I came back to visit relatives with my son, and coincidentally, he got sick, so I brought him here for a doctor's appointment. While I was registering, a long-haired, chubby girl asked who I was seeing. I said my son. Then she asked for my identification documents because in a foreign country, mothers have to register when their children see a doctor. So I asked, "Whose identification documents do you need?" Suddenly, she loudly exclaimed, "So who's seeing the doctor now?" I was startled. After calming down, she asked if I needed a receipt and if I needed to claim insurance. So I was just curious and asked if there's a different charge for foreign nationals (because my son is a foreigner, and as far as I know, there are two charges for emergency care). This seemed to upset her, and she shouted, "The price is the same! I was just asking if you need a receipt to claim insurance!" Actually, young lady, I know you need to speak loudly because you're wearing a mask, but I could hear you even when you spoke softly. I also know I'm not a very helpful customer, and I'm sorry to have upset you. I hope you can put yourself in my shoes; when you're sick and tired, you wouldn't want others to treat you rudely.
