25 條I had minor surgery at the hospital the day before yesterday, and today was my first time coming in to have my wound cleaned. The nurse was very attentive, giving me a mirror to check how my wound looked. After cleaning it, she gave me two pieces of adhesive tape to take home for use, and then proactively helped me schedule an appointment to remove my stitches. She was very attentive, efficient, polite, and had a great smile. This is the first time I've encountered such excellent service at a government clinic; I'm truly flattered and had to write a review. I never expected a government clinic to have such good service. Thumbs up!
This is what quality medical service truly means. Mrs. Pak Lap Kee General Outpatient Clinic, Seven Sisters Road, North Point, 5-4-2024. Some time ago, I complained to Dr. Lo Chung-mau and Secretary for Hospitality Management Fan Hung-ling about the rigid operation of hospitals (Queen Elizabeth) and general outpatient clinics (Tseung Kwan O) under the Hospital Authority, where some medical staff were wasting patients' time and taxpayers' money. I also raised the question with the two senior officials: why can Mrs. Pak Lap Kee in North Point, Hong Kong, provide such affordable healthcare while Kowloon cannot? Today, I accompanied a patient to Mrs. Parker's General Outpatient Clinic for a follow-up appointment. I noticed the service had improved further; the blood pressure and weighing machines were new. The appointment was at 9:30 AM, and we arrived at 9:10 AM. We checked in and paid at the self-service machine. After a 15-minute break, we had our blood pressure and weighing checked. Because the new blood pressure and weighing machines require scanning the code on the receipt before they can be used, two nurses and an administrative assistant were present to assist the patient, providing attentive service. Other assistants were also very polite and helpful. The service attitude of this clinic is truly commendable. In particular, the clinic's head nurse, Ms. Yun Xinting (APN), and nurses Qian Jiaxin and Ms. Lin were very attentive. Ms. Yun led all the nurses (except those on duty in the nurses' station) to move around the lobby attending to patients, proactively asking how they could help. Ms. Qian Jiawen automatically took over the duties of the nursing station assistant when she saw that she had left, assisting patients with scheduling their blood tests. Business assistant Ms. Lin assisted patients in the lobby with using the equipment and explained issues related to eHealth and HA GO. She was professional, patient, and caring. Dr. Leung Bei-sha did not take a shortcut simply because it was a substitute appointment. Instead, she patiently discussed the patient's blood pressure, gout, cholesterol, and blood sugar information on the computer with the patient, listened to the patient's recent health status, arranged for a comprehensive blood and urine test before the patient's three-month follow-up appointment, and issued prescriptions, blood collection slips, and follow-up appointment slips. Dr. Leung's passion, professionalism, and care for her profession are truly admirable. If all doctors in Hong Kong possessed such passion and integrity, it would be a blessing for Hong Kong. Arriving at 9:10, after a 15-minute rest, I had my blood pressure, weight, and blood pressure checked. I saw the doctor, scheduled my blood draw and medication at the nursing station, and the whole process took only 30 minutes. I was able to leave at 9:40. I hope the Hospital Authority will take concrete action and use Mrs. Perry's General Outpatient Clinic as a model to promote its operation to all general outpatient clinics in Hong Kong. To all medical staff in Hong Kong, keep up the good work!
