I had an eye exam at Tai Po Eye Centre today. Dr. Chu Tung-Hang was very patient and friendly in explaining my eye condition. He was also very polite and courteous during the examination, which is commendable. His fees were reasonable.
Great experience. The ophthalmologist took his time to find the best prescription for my eyes. He explained the different tests with patience. Very professional. Highly recommend !
I made an appointment due to an eye infection, but the employee didn't mention that it was with an optometrist, not a doctor, so he couldn't provide eye drops. During the meeting with the optometrist, despite my inflamed eyes, they even suggested I go home and do hot compresses for a week, then return to see the doctor if it didn't work within a week! Why didn't they mention the doctor's appointment when I made the appointment?! What if my infection worsened a week later? I wasted half a day and didn't get any eye drops; this is unbelievable and unprofessional!! I made an appointment because of an eye infection, but the employee didn't explain that it was with an optometrist, not the doctor I had previously seen, and therefore he couldn't provide eye drops. During the meeting with the optometrist, despite my inflamed eyes, he actually suggested I go home and do hot compresses for a week before seeing the doctor again. I think the staff member in charge of the appointment was highly problematic. If this was the case, why didn't they mention the option to see the doctor directly when I made the appointment, instead making me spend time seeing an optometrist first? They clearly didn't consider whether my eye infection would worsen a week later. The receptionist wasted half a day of my time and didn't even provide me with any eye drops; they were extremely unprofessional!
Appointments and eye exams are efficient, the staff are friendly and gentle, explaining symptoms and treatment plans in detail, and the prices are reasonable. They're open on Saturdays and Sundays, so you don't have to go all the way out of Kowloon to book a specialist appointment. Although surgery requires going to Tsim Sha Tsui, it's still quite convenient for Tai Po residents. 👍🏼
