Male STI Testing One nurse discriminated against gay men. Performing STI testing is a responsible practice to protect yourself and others. However, after learning I was gay, this nurse was rude. When she returned my follow-up appointment card, she wrapped the edge of the card with a tissue, held it between two fingertips, and then loudly told me to disinfect my hands with alcohol. Being so terrified during an STI test is not only unprofessional and ignorant, but also spreads fear; it's utterly absurd. I'm resigning. The doctor, while professional, completely ignored the nurse's attitude...not uttering a single word. The staff in the sampling room near the exit (I think it was room 13) were also cowardly. What professional medical staff would ask a patient to collect their own oral cells? Did you do more or did I do more??? And they didn't even look at me properly, keeping their back to me the whole time; I wouldn't even know if they made a mistake! I was fortunate to have several polite and professional nurses in room 1, who showed absolutely no discrimination!
I've never seen a dermatologist like this before. Other places told me that while long-term treatment for this condition is difficult, it's curable and I've seen significant improvement. But this other person told me my condition is incurable; they can only maintain the current state without improvement. So, what do you think?
