This was my first time seeing Dr. Chan Ka-shing. After registering, I went online to read reviews. I saw comments like, "[They say Dr. Chan is terrible and doesn't listen to patients] [They say the girls at the door are rude]," etc. I was debating whether to leave or not, but my son was so sick he was in pain, so I went ahead with the appointment. Actually, from registration to seeing Dr. Chan, the girls were very polite and took my son's information. Dr. Chan was very attentive during the consultation, taking my son's blood pressure, asking what he had eaten, pressing on his stomach to see where he felt pain, and doing everything he needed. He also carefully explained my son's illness and what medication he needed. I asked how to get my son's medicine. When I finally got the medicine, the nurse explained everything carefully. I asked her a few questions, and I mentioned in the online reviews that the nurses who were rude before had all changed. Dr. Chan takes a long time to see patients, but he always wants to understand their condition clearly. So after today's visit, I felt I had to speak out about this whole thing so that no one would smear Dr. Chan Ka-shing and the nurses at his clinic anymore.
The clinic has changed to Dr. Chan Ka-shing. This doctor initially seems very attentive, asking you to slowly explain your problems. After you finish, he'll question what you say. If you say the word "seems," he'll say "seems" means "no." If you say anything he doesn't want to hear, he'll start scolding you. He'll even tell you, "I'm scolding you because only people who care about you would scold you." 😑 Please don't mind my rambling. I said I didn't want to take antibiotics. He said I was pathetic for being such a grown-up and not knowing how to think. Shouldn't he explain how antibiotics help? Just because I don't want to take them, he calls me pathetic and ignorant. He asks me why I came to see a doctor? To waste money. She even told me she works as a doctor in a private hospital, and that I'd already made a good deal since I'd seen her. I thought to myself, with that kind of attitude from a private doctor, who would want to see you? I wasn't so angry and kept arguing with her… but the girl now was actually nicer than her. Because she was so attentive and detailed, the waiting time was quite long. If you like her asking you a lot of questions, and you don't question her… and you just do whatever she tells you to do… then go see her 😑 The previous doctor at the clinic was also surnamed Chen… and he was much better. The good reviews were probably all for him. The current doctor used to run a clinic in Tsz Wan Shan… and he had a lot of bad reviews. 😖
The doctor has changed to Dr. Chen Jiacheng. Advantages: He gives patients a lot of time, is attentive, and direct. Every time I see him, my condition improves dramatically. He doesn't just ignore me and tell me to leave. Disadvantages: Waiting times are long because he spends a lot of time on patients. Consultation fees are high (he might prescribe more than three days' worth of medication, sometimes a week). If I need tests, the staff won't contact me proactively after the results are out; I have to ask them myself. I suggest they proactively contact patients for follow-up appointments, or offer some form of reward.
